- Uninstall Salad
Uninstall Salad, and all of its associated files and folders
- Restart your computer
This will finalize the uninstallation of Salad, as it does with most programs that require drivers to run.
- Reinstall Salad
Navigate in your internet browser to www.salad.io and re-download the installation .exe, and when the installation finishes, be sure to uncheck the “Run Salad” checkbox.
- Open McAfee
This will be the main screen you are presented within McAfee, and is your base of virus-fighting operations.
5.Navigate to settings
To open the settings of McAfee, select the little on the upper-right-corner of the app and select ‘Real time scanning’ from the drop down list.
- Click on ‘Excluded Files’
After you have clicked on the ‘Real-Time Scanning’ option, a new window will appear. From that window, select the ‘Excluded Files’ option as pictured below-
- Click on ‘Add Files’
After clicking on ‘Excluded Files’, click on ‘Add files’ as pictured below-
- Adding Salad as an Exclusion
After clicking on ‘Add file’, you’ll want to navigate to the Salad installation folder and select it, the default installation path is “C:\Users\YourUserHere\AppData\Local\Programs\Salad” and from that folder, select Salad.exe and click ‘Open’
But hold on, we are not done yet. As McAfee doesn’t support folder exclusion you will need to add ethminer.exe as an exclusion as well.
- Adding ethminer.exe as an exclusion
After selecting your exclusion for salad.exe, click on ‘Add files’ again. This time, you’ll want to navigate to the dist folder and select ‘Ethminer.exe’, the default path is “C:\Users\YourUserHere\AppData\Local\Programs\Salad\dist\ethminer” and select ethminer.exe from there.
- Click Add
Once you’ve found your Salad installation folder along with your ethminer folder and clicked it, hit ‘Open’, and it will bring you back to the main McAfee Exclusion whitelist page with your newly added exclusions
- Run Salad
Let Salad run for at least 30 minutes after setting up the whitelist. Contact support if this issue persists
